Communicating Science Through Print and Radio: An Evening with Joe Palca -- SOLD OUT

Join Joe Palca, science correspondent for National Public Radio, for a discussion of the techniques and challenges of conveying complex, and sometimes controversial, scientific issues in print and radio journalism. To what extent do science and journalism influence and inform each other, or does one shape the other?

Since joining NPR in 1992, Joe Palca has covered a range of science topics, from biomedical research to astronomy. He is occasional host for Talk of the Nation Science Friday. He has also served as the Washington news editor for Nature, and as a senior correspondent for Science Magazine. He is a 2003 recipient of the National Academies' Communications Award for excellence in communicating science, engineering, and medicine to the general public.

$5 admission includes light refreshments.
