Picturing the Science of Climate Change

Date: ,
Location: Koshland Science Museum
Time: 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM

Global temperature is rising. This will cause changes in the climate in both the short and long term. But what exactly does a changing climate look like? Scientist Gavin Schmidt and photographer Joshua Wolfe discuss how imagery can help tell the story of climate change, the science and the ongoing impacts. They will show photographs and satellite images from their new book and discuss what it takes to tell a compelling story while avoiding cliches.
There will be a book signing after the discussion.
Climate Change: Picturing the Science is being published by W.W.Norton

Gavin Schmidt is a climate scientist at the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies as well as a co-founder and contributing editor at RealClimate.org.
