Poetry inspires. It asks the big questions and searches for the big answers. Love, life, the literal and the figurative. Now imagine tackling climate change.

Climate change is a global problem. But the impacts and potential solutions will affect us locally and in many different ways.

Join the Koshland Science Museum and DC Slam as we challenge local poets to give their take on "solutions to climate change."  Expect to be inspired, challenged, and perhaps amused as we mix art and science in a slam for the world

What is a poetry slam? Simply put, poetry slam is the competitive art of performance poetry. It was established in the mid-80s by Marc Kelly Smith, a then construction worker, as a means to heighten public interest in poetry readings. Since then, slam has evolved into an international art form emphasizing audience involvement and poetic excellence.

DC Slam has invited 7 poets to present their thoughts on climate. What are yours? Join us as we explore solutions to climate change, from a poet's perspective.

Reservations encouraged. RSVP to ksm@nas.edu or call 202-334-1201.
