Speaker:
Dr. Johan Lundström (pictured above) an Assistant Member of the Monell Chemical Senses Center, received his PhD in Psychology from Uppsala University in Sweden.  Research at Monell examines the mechanisms and functions of the chemical senses, focusing on taste and smell. Dr. Lundström´s laboratory focuses on the cerebral basis for chemosensory processing. Several different lines of investigation explore how the human brain allows us to perceive, process, and understand chemosensory information. A current interest is the complex processing of social chemosignals - signals that border between perception and cognition.  He was the 2009 recipient of Moskowitz Jacobs Award for Research Excellence in the Psychophysics of Taste and Smell.
