Students conduct an inventory of human traits and play a game that helps to highlight each individual's uniqueness. They find out that humans share many basic characteristics, but at the same time there is variation.

Description
This activity is designed to help students explore human genetic variation through the process of active, collaborative learning. It is part of a larger module that includes four related activites and a teacher's guide. One of the related activities The Meaning of Genetic Variation is a suggested post-visit activity.
The activity is completely downloadable in PDF format as a lesson plan. The activities include explicit instructions in terms of preparation time, organization and teaching techniques. Activity sheets for students are provided for each activity.
