Resilient National Partnership Network Forum attendees make decisions about which resources to invest in during the Prepare Phase of Extreme Event: Coastal City
In November 2017 Koshland staff were invited to facilitate Extreme Event: Coastal City for the 2017 Resilient Nation Partnership Network Forum. Started in November 2015, FEMA’s Resilient Nation Partnership Network (RNPN) works to advance the conversation around resilience. To date, they have more than 150 partner organizations representing a diverse pool of industries including infrastructure, planning, conservation, academia, law enforcement, and emergency management. The RNPN hosts quarterly calls and trainings, distributes monthly newsletters, and fosters dialogue among their partners and FEMA nationwide. Organizers of the event said that after learning about Extreme Event, they thought it would be a great way to cultivating some exciting and valuable dialogue between partners who come from a diversity of industries and areas of expertise.

About 40 RNPN Forum attendees participated in Extreme Event: Coastal City during the post-lunch breakout sessions. Players had great time working together and had an interesting discussion during the Adapt Phase about their experience and how they thought the game could be used in their different organizations.
