CERT CON attendees make decisions about which resources to invest in during the Prepare Phase of Extreme Event: Rock City
In September 2017, Koshland staff were invited to take part in the 2017 National Capital Region Community Emergency Response Team Conference (CERT CON). Organized by Prince George's County Maryland Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the yearly CERT CON features a host of basic refresher and advanced emergency management seminars and speakers. The conference aims to empower CERT members to be able to aid in response and recovery to any natural or man-made disaster as emergency professionals are often unable to reach a scene for several hours or even days.

25 CERT CON attendees played Extreme Event: Rock City and had a great conversation about ways they could use Extreme Event in their communities. Participants said they plan to play Extreme Event with their CERT members, their city and county offices of emergency management, and local school programs.
