Extreme Event on the Road: Washington, DC Neighborhood Prepares for Flooding

In January 2017, Extreme Event was on the road to the Southwest Neighborhood Assembly’s (SWNA) Emergency Preparedness Task Force in Washington, DC. The SWNA’s Emergency Preparedness Task Force was established to address community emergency preparedness and strives to build a resilient community that is prepared for and better able to withstand and overcome the effects of disasters. Joined by DC flood and emergency preparedness professionals, Koshland staff led the group through Extreme Event: River City and facilitated a great group discussion about how the SWNA could help residents be more resilient in the face of future flooding events.
