At this ceremony and reception, meet and mingle with the winners of the 2014 Communication Awards, presented annually by the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, and Institute of Medicine to recognize excellence in reporting and communicating science, engineering, and medicine to the general public; each includes a $20,000 prize. This year’s winners include Dan Fagin, author of Toms River: A Story of Science and Salvation, NPR correspondent Rob Stein, New York Times science reporter Dennis Overbye, and Seattle Times reporter Craig Welch and photographer Steve Ringman.
