Join the Koshland Science Museum for the first Science Social of the fall season. Bring your favorite game and enjoy an evening of teamwork, strategic thinking, and problem solving.
Think about a game that challenges you to solve a real-world or hypothetical problem. The game should accommodate 2—8 players and take no more than 1.5 hours to play. Shorter games are also welcome. The game can take the form of a board game, card game, or other participatory challenge. Bring a game to share so that you and others can play a variety of games that require diverse talents and resources.
You don’t have to be a serious gamer to participate. You just have to be willing to work as a team and have fun. If you do not have a particular game that you would like to contribute, the museum will provide “Flash Point: Fire Rescue,” “The Resistance,” “Pandemic,” “Pox,” and “Settlers of Catan.” Other games will be shared by participants.
The game night will be facilitated by Mattie Cohan, Associate General Counsel at the National Academy of Sciences and a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center. She is an enthusiastic gamer who especially enjoys board games and card games that encourage teamwork and camaraderie. Some of her favorite games are Arkham Horror, Battlestar Galactica, and Twilight Imperium. In her free time, she enjoys travel and acting and often meets up with friends at the annual Gen Con gaming convention in Indianapolis.
There is no charge for admission and complimentary game snacks will be provided. Advance registration is strongly recommended as space is limited and your responses will help us to maximize the number of games and players. Please register through Eventbrite.
