September 7, 2011—WASHINGTON—Earth Lab: Degrees of Change, a new exhibit at the Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences, opens Thursday, Sept. 15. The exhibit's visualizations allow visitors to explore the impacts of climate change and take on the role of decision makers who identify priorities, evaluate tradeoffs, and decide how to respond to climate change.
June 2, 2011 - WASHINGTON - As of today all PDF versions of books published by the National Academies Press will be downloadable to anyone free of charge. This includes a current catalog of more than 4,000 books plus future reports produced by the Press. The mission of the National Academies Press (NAP) -- publisher for the National Academy of Sciences, National Academy of Engineering, Institute of Medicine, and National Research Council -- is to disseminate the institutions' content as widely as possible while maintaining financial sustainability.
January 6, 2011 - WASHINGTON - The Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences will begin a new season of programs and community events starting on Jan. 13. The winter 2011 calendar of events has something for critical-thinkers of all ages, from hands-on activities examining energy efficiency to a community day exploring climate connections between space and Earth. Admission for all events is free.

December 14, 2009 - WASHINGTON – Beginning in January, the Marian Koshland Science Museum is offering several public programs and free "science cafés" that explore a wide range of topics, from identity theft to the U.S. Census to viruses such as influenza and AIDS. The public programs will take place at the Koshland Science Museum; the science cafés will be held at Busboys and Poets. A schedule of events follows.
