Marian Koshland Science Museum Forms Partnership with Science Centre Singapore

May 15, 2008Washington, DC –In a new collaboration, the Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences is licensing several components of its global warming and infectious diseases exhibits to the Science Centre Singapore. The partnership marks an expansion of the Koshland Science Museum's efforts to bring its work to international audiences by teaming up with other museums and science centers around the world.

Koshland Science Museum Announces Winter Programs

December 10, 2007Washington, DC –The Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences has lined up an exciting new slate of events to engage the public in some of today's most fascinating science. Programs beginning in January 2008 will include an illustrated tour of the fundamental concepts of science by award-winning writers Natalie Angier and Rick Weiss, an examination of the state of the world's coral reefs, and a discussion with the hosts and producer of Radio Lab, the popular National Public Radio show.

February 17, 2005 - Washington, DC - The Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences welcomed its 20,000th visitor, just 9 months after opening. J.R. Holloway, a shy but ambitious 4th grader and aspiring scientist, was surprised to learn that he was the museum’s 20,000th visitor Monday morning. He and his mother Linda Holloway were visiting DC from Grapevine, Texas. “He loves science” said Linda Holloway.

Koshland Science Museum Announces Fall Programs

August 10, 2007Washington, DC –Beginning this September, the Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences will bring top scientists and policy experts together in a series of public programs to discuss important scientific issues of the day, including the global burden of infectious disease, the latest breakthroughs in energy technology, and scientific and ethical issues surrounding stem cell research. On the cultural side, the Princeton Laptop Orchestra will appear at the museum in their debut performance in Washington, D.C.

Koshland Science Museum Announces Spring Events

To celebrate its new interactive exhibit, Infectious Disease: Evolving Challenges to Human Health, the Marian Koshland Science Museum will host a day of hands-on activities for the entire family on Saturday, March 31. Programs in April and May provide an opportunity to investigate food safety, kitchen chemistry, comedy, and cognitive health.
