Marian Koshland Science Museum Awarded 2004 Galaxy Award for Global Warming: Facts and our Future Exhibit

November 22, 2004 – The Marian Koshland Science Museum was recently awarded the 2004 Bronze Galaxy Award for its Global Warming: Facts and our Future exhibit. The exhibit was one of over 400 entries from 14 countries submitted to the 15 th Annual International Galaxy award competition. The exhibit ranked in the top third, winning the 2004 Bronze Galaxy Award for the best Museum Exhibit Design. The award honors Bowman Design Group for their creative efforts.

Koshland Science Museum Attracts 10,000th Visitor Public Programs Using Forensics and DNA Tests to Be Launched in August

August 2, 2004Washington, DC - The Marian Koshland Science Museum of the National Academy of Sciences welcomed its 10,000th visitor on Saturday only three months after opening its doors. Darlene Kamya from Raleigh, North Carolina was surprised when what she thought would be a simple visit to the museum turned into a celebration.

April 16 , 2004Washington, DC – Discover DC’s newest museum as its doors open to the public – revealing the science driving today’s headlines and affecting our lives every day. The Grand Opening will spring into action with performances by Velocity Stilts – acrobats who have adapted the latest technology used in artificial limbs into high-performance stilts. The big-band sound of the Junkyard Saints will also entertain as museum interns from Banneker High School engage visitors in hands-on science activities.
